The Ashley Lauren Foundation (ALF) will be holding its 7th Annual Butterfly Ball on April 21, 2018 at the Spring Lake Golf Club in Spring Lake. Details will be coming in early 2018, so stay tuned! We look forward to seeing you at our biggest fundraising event of the year for all our ALF families.

The holiday season is very meaningful to The Ashley Lauren Foundation. Our ALF Family Holiday Party is one of many programs offered to the children and their families. It is a beautiful, fun-filled day for the children and their families to forget about their cancer and enjoy the holiday season.

Monica Vermeulen, Founder/CEO of The Ashley Lauren Foundation stated that, “We are so excited to be hosting our Inaugural Hope Campaign and “Dance for Hope” Dance Marathon at Monmouth University. The “Dance for Hope” Dance Marathon will be the celebratory conclusion of the Foundation’s Hope Campaign, which is going on now through November 19th. Our goal is to reach $75,000, so please become a fundraiser today.”
The Dance Marathon is open to the public. The entry fee is $50 which can be obtained by fundraising. The Ashley Lauren Foundation is seeking participants that are willing to be fundraisers, donors or put a fundraising team together to help reach the Hope Campaign’s goal. In addition, the Greater Spring Lake Chamber of Commerce will be sharing the proceeds of this year’s Citizen of the Year Dinner with The Ashley Lauren Foundation.

Fifty years ago, in 1967, the musical You’re A Good Man Charlie Brown opened off Broadway. Now it is coming to Greenbriar II in Brick as a fundraiser for The Ashley Lauren Foundation, a Spring Lake non-profit that provides Hope and Help for Children with Cancer in New Jersey through financial, material and emotional support along with many programs for the children.
This multi-generational production is being directed by Monica Vermeulen (Brick) who is also the Founder/CEO of The Ashley Lauren Foundation. Musical Direction is by Norman “Doc” Hart (Brick). Reuniting after playing opposite each other in the same roles thirty years ago are Windber R. Brandt (Toms River) as Charlie Brown and Renee S. Tompkins (Wall Township) as Lucy Van Pelt. Rounding out the cast is Corey Crawford (Beachwood), as Linus, Maria D’Amato (Long Branch) as Sally Brown; Windber’s son, Windber R. Brandt (Ocean Gate), as Schroeder; and Madison Starr Wicker (Brick) as Snoopy.
There will be two performances at Greenbriar II Clubhouse, located at 1 Greenbriar Boulevard, Brick, NJ 08724 on Saturday, October 14 at 7:00 PM and Sunday, October 15 at 3:00 PM. Mark your calendars for the ultimate Sunday Funday, all while showing your support for Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. Brielle Ale House is hosting its inaugural Run for Hope 5K & Fun Run to benefit The Ashley Lauren Foundation, a nonprofit based out of Spring Lake and serving all of New Jersey, which provides financial assistance, emotional support and many other programs to children and families suffering from the hardships of pediatric cancer, on Sunday, September 24, 2017.
All proceeds from this event will go to The Ashley Lauren Foundation. Participants will receive a t-shirt, a closed scenic course throughout Brielle, and access to an after party with their registration. After the race, there will be a ton of free family fun for participants at Brielle Ale House that includes face painting and bounce houses, a barbecue, drink tickets, a push-up/plank challenge, music, gift basket raffles, 50/50 and so much more!
Registration is from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. at Brielle Ale House, located at 601 Union Lane in Brielle; the 5K starts at 10:30 a.m. and the 1-Mile Walk/Fun Run (one-mile) at 10:45 a.m. (strollers welcome). The after party begins at 11:30 a.m. The cost is $35 per person, $20 for 12 and under, and kids 4 and under are FREE. Online registration ends September 21st, you must register by September 7th to be guaranteed a t-shirt.

The Ashley Lauren Foundation is pleased to announce the appointment of Serena DiMaso to its Board of Directors.
The Foundation, based out of Spring Lake, and serving all of New Jersey, provides financial assistance, emotional support and many other programs to children and families suffering from the hardships of pediatric cancer.
Founder and CEO Monica Vermeulen states, “We are honored to have Serena DiMaso join our Board. Serena brings a tremendous amount of experience which will help to further our mission of helping children with cancer.”
DiMaso is currently serving her third elected term on the Board of Chosen Freeholders. She is liaison to the Office of Emergency Management, Workforce Development, Superintendent of Schools, Tourism, Division of Reclamation, Division of Weights & Measures, Improvement Authority and the Shade Tree Commission. DiMaso serves as the Freeholder representative on the County’s Planning Board and the Mosquito Control Advisory Board. DiMaso served on the Holmdel Township Committee for ten years, including five years as Mayor. She serves on the Meridian Hospital’s Corporation Board of Trustees, is Chairwoman of the Bayshore Hospital Foundation and is an active member of the Holmdel First Aid Squad. Serena is also a Board member of the National Foundation for Women Legislators.
Serena participated in The Ashley Lauren Foundation’s Butterfly Ball competition “Dancing For Our Stars” in February 2017. She states, “What a fun way to help raise the money needed to carry out the important work of the Foundation.”
“The Ashley Lauren Foundation does so much for children battling cancer and their families,” says DiMaso. “It is my privilege to join this great group and do what I can to advance their mission of bringing hope and help for children with cancer.”
