“Capturing The Game” Exhibit at “Art From The Heart” Helps Children with Cancer

Portion of sales will benefit The Ashley Lauren Foundation

Exhibit runs August 28, 2015 to September 30, 2015

Artist reception: August 28, 6 to 9pm

Location: The Galleria, 2 Bridge Ave Red Bank NJ 07701

Frame to Please co-owner Megan Prenderville’s Art from the Heart project combines her commitment to supporting local charities with her desire to provide artists with the opportunity for a solo show. Each exhibit runs for a month in Red Bank’s popular Galleria. She takes no commission and asks only that the artists donate a portion of their sales to their favorite charity.

The next exhibit in the series, Capturing the Game, will showcase fine artist Mike Kupka whose work is inspired by music, movies and his love of sports. Kupka’s pieces appear worldwide in galleries and are in the private collections of numerous celebrities and athletes. A Rahway, NJ native, he is a first-place winner of Beckett’s 10th annual Sports Gallery Contest and was named one of U.S. Art Magazine’s “25 Artists You Should Know.”

Kupka’s portrait of Ozzy Osbourne caught the eye of a Disney Company representative that led to an eight-year stint as a licensed artist for the Disney Company. He is currently licensed by Major League Baseball, as well as, the estates of Thurman Munson, Lou Gehrig and Jackie Robinson. Mike has also produced artwork for Lucas Films, King Features, Topps, NFL, NBA and NHL.

Proceeds from the sale of Kupka’s work will benefit The Ashley Lauren Foundation. Founded in 2005, the foundation provides direct financial, material and emotional assistance to New Jersey families dealing with a pediatric cancer diagnosis along with many programs developed to bring smiles to the children.

“I’ve watched a lot of people close to me go through cancer,” Kupka explained when asked how he selected his charity. “I can’t imagine what these kids have to deal with, at such an early age. Their family and friends as well.”

Kupka studied at duCret School of Art in Plainfield, NJ where he was introduced to the work of his greatest influences: Norman Rockwell, Robert McGinnis, and James Bama by his professor and mentor, Peter Caras. Kupka creates a variety of freelance art by individual commission and under broad creative licenses.

2015 Colts Neck Barn Tour

The Ashley Lauren Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to bringing hope and help to children throughout New Jersey who suffer from cancer through financial, material and emotional support, held its 2015 COLTS NECK BARN TOUR on Saturday, September 12, 2015. This fundraiser is held annually in observance of September’s National Childhood Cancer Awareness Month.

Across the nation, thousands of courageous children fight pediatric cancer each year.  The Ashley Lauren Foundation’s mission is to relieve the daily burden’s thrust upon these children as they battle this disease.

This event is a very rare opportunity to visit some of Colts Neck’s exquisite farms and stables where champion hunter jumpers and thoroughbreds are raised and trained.

Over 120 ticket holders toured four farms, which included Wellspring Stables, Colts Neck Stables, Yellowbrook Farm/Helen Goddard LLC and Stillwell Stables as well as a tour of the beautiful Four JGs Vineyards. The tour began with coffee and apple cider donuts donated by Delicious Orchards and ended with an old-fashioned BBQ plus entertainment by Jilly Sentino at Stillwell Stables.

Sponsors of the 2015 Colts Neck Barn Tour included Investors Bank along with Carol Stillwell and Mary Ann Larkin of Stillwell Stables.
